The acquisition of DONN® Incorporated and its ceiling suspension systems positioned USG Interiors as the only company to offer complete pre-designed and fully integrated ceiling systems. USG FORMED 1903 1902 1978 First product developed in 1903, a gypsum-based, fireproof tile called Pyrobar. SHEETROCK® was invented in 1916 through the evolution of Sackett Board. 1946 USG FIRST PRODUCT SHEETROCK® IS HERE 1916 30 independent companies merged to consolidate their resources and form the United States Gypsum (USG) Company. BORAL WAS FORMED AGI ACQUISITION Founded by David Craig on 4 March 1946 as a manufacturer and importer of crude oil. Boral was part owned by Caltex.
