Jeter Among the Yankee Greats

The Derek Jeter farewell tour is coming to a city near you. Ever since Jeter announced this would be his last season teams have been celebrating his career when he makes his last visit in their park. It has been an emotional final season for Jeter and Yankee fans. The end is coming soon and Jeter starts his final All Star Game. The Game was stopped for him as fans all over the world paid respect to the current Yankee hero. Jeter now joins the likes of Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio, Yogi Berra & Mariano Rivera as Yankee greats.

To summarize Jeter's career in one word would be hard but if we had to "winner" come to mind.

Jeter came into the league as a winner and will leaving as a winner in the hearts of many fans. There is no player who has made a bigger impact during the playoffs than Derek Jeter. These accomplishments during the playoffs have given him nicknames such as "Captain Clutch" and "Mr. November".

Derek Jeter came into the league as a young 19 year old phenom. He has lived up to very bit of the hype he had when he came into the league. There are some who say he is over rated but everyone doesn't question his leadership and desire to win. That desire has shown itself with countless clutch plays and 5 Championships. He is going to be retiring as only played with one team, something that is very rare these days.
