The Washington Nationals were always considered a tough out in the playoffs but we didn't think they would sweep through the playoffs. That's exactly what they did in season 1 of the MLB the Show Online Franchise. The Nationals relied heavily on the home run ball as they kept count of their home runs. It even became the goal of the opposing team to limit the ammount of the HR's. The Nationals power streak was impressive as any USDA accopmplishment as Houusam06 dared any oposing pitcher to throw a fastball.
The Nationals relied heavily on Bryce Hardper, Evan Longoria, and Carlos Gonzalez. In what was a stunning move the team decided to move it's top arms to Colorado for five tool OF Carlos Gonzalez . Other teams questioned the move because it left the Nationals pitching staff very weak. That didn't faze Houssam as he knew he had to keep the opponents bats from just blowing up as he knew his offense would outscore anyone. It was a sight to see as the Nationals plowed through the playoffs in demanding fashion.
The Nationals havent had a busy offseason as they decided to move Evan Longoria for Adrian Beltre who then was dealt for Manny Machado. It would seem like the Nationals are focusing more on contact and speed than tryign to hit the HR ball every time up. The slider change definetely has had an impact on how you build your team. Either way the Nationals are looking like a force to be reckon with this year and are looking to repeat as USDA champions.
