The Li Family

The Li family believes that success is a result of good planning and good values . It ’ s the philosophy they rely on to run their global business , and it ’ s the same for raising their younger son , Brian . That belief also led them to their initial involvement with the U . S . Kids Golf Foundation .
After settling in the Boston area in 2015 , they encouraged Brian to explore several athletic opportunities while maintaining his stellar academic performance . And though he enjoyed his experiences in soccer , basketball , tennis , and squash , it was golf that struck a chord for him . As luck would have it , the Li family happened to live in a golf course community , and Brian would dedicate hours to practicing and playing , particularly when the pandemic closures allowed for fewer opportunities in other activities .
Brian showed a talent and love for the game , but even more , his parents could see how golf was also teaching him essential life skills . Becoming involved in his U . S . Kids Golf Local Tour was a natural next step , and he signed up to play in events where he could compete , develop his skills , spend time with his family , and make new friends . He also became intrigued by the opportunity to develop more organizational and leadership skills and became a volunteer on that same Local Tour in the fall of 2023 .
“ As soon as he arrived to volunteer , it was clear that Brian Li was a special young man ,” said Andrew Ingham , the Boston Local Tour Director . “ Brian ’ s maturity level is well beyond his age , and his interpersonal skills are far superior to any teenager I have had any interaction with in the last few years . Brian is going to provide a positive impact in whatever he does in life .”
Today , Brian continues to grow and flourish , both as a player and a leader . He has organized his own club – a group of young players in the local area ( The Boston Eaglets Club ) who play , compete , support , and encourage each other in golf and other endeavors . These skills were a direct result of his volunteer efforts .
