Fighting Tactics

As mentioned before the US used napalm bombs along with a chemical defoliant named "Agent-Orange" the use of this chemical was to reduce the foliage in the thick Vietnamese jungle. On the other hand the Vietnamese soldiers used their surroundings to help them. They used the jungle for coverage and created thousands of miles of underground tunnels with hospitals, armories, and living quarters where groups of soldiers could live for weeks

My Lai Massacre

One of the most influential events of the war that affected the home front and the war in general was the My Lai Massacre. In this event soldiers open fired on civilians and killed over 400. When word got to the US the American people were outraged at the government for sending our troops to going into a place where we had no reason to be there. The massacre started all sorts of riots and created yet another reason for the war to end.
