Lantern Festival 2016

The Lantern Festival was a hit! Despite the short rain showers, the vendors stuck
it out and stayed. As the sun started creeping out from behind the clouds, the
people of Bismarck-Mandan started showing up. People of all ages were there to
shop, listen to music, decorate a lantern and help their children build a bug.
sonniewaters kicked off the music for the evening. With their sweet sultry voices,
this family band drew quite the crowd! This was their first time playing out side
of a coffee shop. Needless to say, we will be inviting them to perform at more
events! They were a total blast to have at the festival!
Other performers included, Zoe Bohlen of Sleep For Dreaming, Northern Light,
the lovely Brianna Helbling, and local rocker Jennifer Lyn.
We have learned so much while putting this event together – anything is
possible. Due to unforseen circumstances, with combined experience, Stacy,
Nicole and I managed to relocate, redecorate and replan this entire event in just
a couple weeks. Due to the last minute relocation, the only complaint I heard was
the lack of parking in Pioneer Park. Which is good to know for next year!!
