Happy 5th
Anniversary Kobe's!!
It’s a 100 yard dash in stiletto
heels, 4 in. minimum to be exact.
Competitors in the 5th Annual
Stiletto Race strapped on pairs of
high heels and sprinted to the finish line in heats. The winner gets
bragging rights and a traveling trophy.
Winners of each heat automatically advanced to the final race.
The second and third place finishers in each heat advanced to the
semi-final heat. The first, second,
and third place finishers from the
semifinal heat go on to the final
heat.
And for the first time in the history of the race, only one woman
placed in the top 3. The first place
winner was Mike Keller. Second
place was Crystal Hovland. And
making a comeback this year after
breaking his shoe in the final race
last year, URL Radio’s Michael
Kashey had a very close third
place finish!
The race is the only fundraiser
for the BisMan Stiletto Group. The
group funds service projects in the
community: projects such as ca-
reer days for at risk youth, Easter
Baskets for the Ruth Meyers Hospitality House, Christmas presents
for the kids of Manchester House,
journals for kids entering Charles
Hall Youth Services, coat collection for Community Action, etc.
"We've raised nearly $20,000
over the last several years, and
just every penny of it has gone
back into the community. I feel like
we wouldn't be as big as we are
without the parade, who doesn't
like the Fourth? Who doesn't like
the parade? And I hope that they
love the Stiletto Race," said Melissa Hammond, founder, BisMan
Stilettos.
BisMan Stiletto members are required to donate 12 hours per year
to Bismarck-Mandan area service projects. Additionally, members are required to paying $100
yearly membership dues. They
are always looking for professional
women in the Bismarck-Mandan
area that are looking to connect
with other professional women and
their community.
