FUNCTIONAL INCONTINENCE .
Functional incontinence is defined as by involuntary loss of urine due to factors outside the lower urinary tract . For example , if a patient has no symptoms of stress or urges or has a high residual post void residue , but is incontinent because he cannot get to the bathroom in time , it can be called functional incontinence . Functional incontinence is usually diagnosed in people with physical or cognitive impairments .
REFLEX INCONTINENCE .
Reflex urinary incontinence is similar to urinary incontinence , also known as hyperactive bladder . Invoking urinary incontinence is when your bladder experiences involuntary muscle spasm , and you suddenly have a strong urge to help , even if your bladder is not full . This often leads to leakage of urine even before you have time to get to the bathroom . Reflex urinary incontinence is caused by the same type of bladder spasm , but often leads to more urine leakage with almost
no warning .
Managing incontinence can take some trial and error to determine what works best for you , but it is possible . Talk to your doctor about the possibilities . They will be there to support you through the process of finding the best solution .
