Responding to the market
demand for eco brands and an
awareness of the quality and
longevity of garments, ‘slow
fashion’ has become the next
big trend. Consumers are now
investing in items of clothing and
customising existing pieces.
As my chosen site is in a high
foot-fall location, it seemed
obvious to design a retail store,
using the two entrances to target
a different clientele - Floral Street
appealing to high end shoppers
and Long Acre appealing to high
street shoppers. The Floral Street
entrance offers ethically sourced
fabrics which can be crafted into
bespoke garments or pret-a-
porter. The Long Acre entrance
offers vintage and upcycled
garments created in-house, often
by small, unknown designer/
makers and using the skills and
knowledge of retired members of
the fashion industry.
