CRYSTAL PALACE
SUBWAY MUSEUM
This project aims to create a
threshold between the past and
the present, creating a modern
interpretation of James Paxton’s
Crystal Palace.
Located underground, directly
underneath the original sites
footprint; the main purpose of the
project is to open the abandoned
grade II listed subway area to
the public again, as well as the
relocation and upgrade of the
existing museum.
Combined with gallery spaces
for local artists and commercial
areas; the new intervention
aims to provide a space for both
locals and visitors to enjoy the
rich history of the site in a new
environment.
