modified ingredients and ingesting too much sugar and fat sans nutrition. Also, as far as I know I’ ve never heard of anyone getting high blood pressure, clogged arteries, salmonella, or the like from eating a lot of vegetables.
People often ask why I choose to be vegetarian or how I do it and it’ s often difficult for me to answer. Because I’ m not one of those Birkenstock wearing, hug a tree, I dont shave my legs kinda girl, nor a religious fanatic, for me to give a * spiritual * or * conscientious * answer seems disingenuous. I do it mainly because I need a foundation of discipline and order and I believe that starts with how you treat yourself. If you want to live well, you have to eat well.
Giving up something that I know tastes good and I’ ve enjoyed in the past is symbolic to me that I can let go of things that I know don’ t have positive long term results. In this fast food American life, the way things are, we all need to have that ability and discipline so we can apply it to other areas of our life where we may be self defeating or destructive. Not to mention, from the boss perspective, you will save so much money by buying unprepared foods and cooking at home rather than spending a lot to eat out and not knowing what they put in your food!
