A STORY OF TRUST
A high level of design , functionality , and individuality adds a premium to your property ’ s value and instills trust in the professionals who remodel your home . For Jill and Eddy Pope , this trust could only be placed in Urbane Projects , leading to the evolution of their 1920s character home , which recently , when sold , broke Subiaco sales records .
“ We were introduced to Steve in 2012 by a friend who had worked with him before , and when we looked at the styles of houses Urbane had created for them and other high-end renovations , we could see they were ahead of everybody else ,” says Eddy .
The couple ’ s house was on a big block in Subiaco , and they dreamed of developing it for their growing family . Maintaining the home ’ s Federation style and maintaining some garden were important , as was designing a modern addition to the rear .
After listening to their brief , Steve suggested some additional design ideas , which the couple embraced . “ He really listened to everything we were asking for and suggested ideas we had never thought of ,” Eddy says . “ Steve came up with the idea for an undercroft garage , which underpins the home ’ s design . We extended the old house across the garage and held onto most of the garden space .”
An elegant veranda wraps the home ’ s frontage , and as you step inside onto the beautiful old floorboards and walk down the veranda , you are met by the new extension . “ All you see is light , our main living space ,” enthuses Jilly . “ It ’ s full of warm earthy tones , concrete , and wood — that is what Steve created for us .”
After the build was complete and the couple had moved into their home , Urbane ’ s superb service continued . “ The team continually followed up because there are always little issues when you build a house , and they were attended to right away ,” Eddy says . “ Steve even taught my wife how to use the vacuum cleaner ! He had a manual that details how to clean a house , and they had a robust discussion about it .”
Eddy says it was a difficult decision to sell the house but are excited to be starting a new project . “ We loved the process so much the first time that we decided to do it again , and are in the middle of designing our new house ,” he says . “ It ’ s been enjoyable so far , and Urbane ’ s design is as mind-blowing as it was the first time .”
Jill agrees and says Steve understands exactly what they need from their new home . “ The process before was very easy and pleasurable - not stressful at all ,” she says . “ I know that Steve and the Urbane team are going to create something for us that will last a lifetime .”
