“ PASTEL ” THE ESSENCE OF FAMILY

A new build project entrusted to Urbane , “ Pastel ” was designed with the intent to preserve and nurture family at its essence . Scott and Claire had a clear vision in mind and wanted their home to be of great artistic value while also being a space to serve the daily needs of their busy family . “ With two young boys , full of energy , we required ample space for them to flourish during their childhood years and for the home to be adaptive to match the change in our lifestyle as they grow .”
Bearing this brief in mind , “ Pastel ” was designed with an oversized living space flowing to the outdoors for uninterrupted movement . An extended ceiling height visually reinforces this feeling of spaciousness along with a subjective “ invitation ” to move ; to explore and experience the space . The star of the show is , without doubt , the kitchen and living areas . The ample living areas designed with the use of light , textural elements blends space with purpose , providing each occupant a cocoon for downtime and uniting them for family activities .
“ Working with Scott and Claire , a vibrant , young couple was a wonderful experience for our entire team . We have thoroughly enjoyed the entire process of seeing the development of this single storey home come to fruition . The play of strong architecture coupled with flowing interiors is a successful fusion of strong design principles . This is a true family home that provides this young family the perfect backdrop to all of life ’ s moments . We are proud to have partnered with Scott and Claire on their Journey to Home and are keen to see how their home will adapt to the growing needs of their family .”
Steve Gliosca , Managing Director , Urbane Projects
With seamless connectivity and fluidity throughout the space , “ Pastel ” is a true testament of merging clever design thinking and application ... where the holistic perception of space is much more than the sum of its parts .
