Linear + Sophisticated + Bold

Contrasting brute architectural details , from the bold exteriors to the refined interiors , showcases “ Pastel ” as a perfect example of how contemporary design can be enhanced with features such as concrete detailing . “ Pastel ”, located in one of Perth ’ s most sought-after suburbs , oozes street appeal and structural presence all scaled to a single storey build . The scale of “ Pastel ” challenges the premise luxury is only found in multi-storey homes .
“ We believe the success of “ Pastel ” and its widespread appeal in the market , is the culmination of thoughtfully considered spaces , perfect for a growing family , merged with these striking architectural elements ” says Steve Gliosca , Managing Director of Urbane Projects . “ This merging of elements has certainly left on impression on those who have been to the home . It changes your perception of what you think you know about a luxury build presented in a single-storey , family home .”
Being a single storey home whilst maintaining its luxury status , “ Pastel ” sought to challenge designers to create the same premium spatial and visual experience often found in multi-storey structures . The use of height throughout the home escalated the sense of grandeur . Designers cleverly used high ceilings in the open kitchen , dining and living areas coupled with and extensive use of glass which visually adds to the sense of space , elevating this premium area of the home .
With a young family at the core of the design ethos , “ Pastel ” caters to the needs of the couple ’ s two young children and the needs of the family as a whole . An open plan living area opens to the outdoors with the extensive use of glass . Ample space in and around the living and alfresco areas draws the children to outside play and allows the parents full visibility whether they are inside the home or enjoying the amenities of the alfresco area .
As the children grow , the cleverly designed floor plan adapts to their changing needs . Generous bedrooms with integrated cabinetry and other spaces throughout the home , ensures the boys and their parents will have the room they need for each stage of their Journey . “ The success of any Urbane build remains the adaptability of its design to change with the ever growing needs of family ,” says Steve . “ Having spaces which are multi-functional ensures the longevity of the home . Our clients often comment on how their homes have been able to sustain the needs of their families years after they were built .”
Whilst there is always a focus on strong design , interiors are a crucial aspect to the success of any Urbane home . In “ Pastel ” the interiors are warm , light and subtle and are intensified with the abundance of natural light pouring through the kitchen and living areas . The play of light provides different tones and intensity to this area throughout the day . An elegant , natural show of shadow and light played against the architectural form of the home .
“ The interplay of natual light , when combined with considered interior elements , sets the mood of the home . Interior materials and selections are enhanced , creating an alluring ambience for its occupants .” Steve goes on to say “ Pastel is testament to how this play on light , when successfully interplayed with the interior selections , can visually impact space . And with the challenge environmental issue and creating sustainable homes , natural light profoundly impacts our arrangement of space throughout the design of our homes .”
