GFM: Why do you think you decided to become a barber?

KEON: I honestly don't think I chose barbering, I believe it chose me and showed me who I was.

GFM: How did you get your start in the industry?

KEON: Back in the day my boy said "just cut me down even don't worry about the line up" but I couldnt leave it like that so i did it and it was clean for a first timer. After that, i would look out my family and close friends when they needed a cut, using just a $10 conair set.

GFM: What or who inspires you?

KEON: I think my original inspiration was Uncle William (Ill Will) every time I was at my cousins house and he'd be there cutting our hair or his own in the mirror I would watch him, he was mean with the clippers, real meticulous. Also Aaron Turmon (my barber), Shawn Robinson, all local heroes to me. My big time inspirations and motivators are at the top of the list Jeremy Knott because he does it for the love of the game, Radam Sperez, and Spruce Cruz.

Grind Flu Magazine recently sat down with Keon the Barber. Check out his interview.
