Red roses, blue violets, pink paisleys, and big, lovely daisies. Not in the garden, not in a vase; instead, ladies everywhere are adoring the new place to show flowers, wearing them in their hair. Perhaps the indie pop band, The Lumineers set the trend with their hit referencing the obvious: “Flowers in Your Hair” or perhaps it is a different singer, Lana del Rey, who’s infatuation with the hair flair and signature look has spawned us into taking on the trend. Even Kim Kardashian had her baby shower themed with the crowns, giving all guests one to wear for the duration of the party and take home. Regardless of who is responsible for the craze, head bouquets are this summer’s favourite accessory.
Although, if you are not a famous singer, celebrity or a super-fox model featured in high-fashion editorial spreads, where do you wear the head-pieces? Sure, we all want in on the perfectly romantic bohemian look, but these oversized floral arrangements are quite quirky attire for everyday dressing. The pretty statements worn across pop-culture and glamorous magazine features are intended to be reinterpreted by fans and onlookers, so have no fear: it is your turn to wear some of nature’s best blossoms!
