John David Jackson known by his stage name Fabolous, is a Hip – Hop star hailing from Brevoort Houses, a housing project in Brooklyn, NY. He was born on November 18th, 1977. There were 143,000 copies sold in its first week and debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200. Over the next couple of years Fabolous put out two more albums titled “Street Dreams” and “Real Talk”.
His third album was the last he would make under Atlantic Records, as he moved to hip-hop powerhouse Def Jam Records. Fabolous’debut Def Jam album titled “From Nothin’ to Somethin’” took the number one spot on Billboards Top Hip-Hop/R & B Albums. He followed that up with Loso’s Way in 2009. Following the birth of his son Johan Jackson to longtime girlfriend and stylist Emily B, he has taken a hiatus from making albums and has produced a series of mixtapes.
The “There is No Competition” series, as well as the mellow yet extremely lyrical “The Soul Tape” has shown that this Brooklyn born rapper has taken over where the late great Notorious B.I.G. and fellow Brooklynite Jay – Z have been. At the top of the charts, and lyrically one of the best!
