Lavender fields forever in
Provence
The majestic valley of the
HImalayas
Calm yourself in soft, blueish purple fields of flowers
while taking in the timelessly synonymous French
fragrance of lavender. Most notably used for
aromatherapy, lavender is also a natural insect
repellent (except for bees, they really love it) and
a fresh culinary addition to French experimental
cuisine.
Alpine flowers burst into bloom during spring at
The Valley of Flowers National Park, in Uttarakhand,
India. Unspoilt eye-popping flora is home to
relatively untouched and natural viewings of fauna
like the Asiatic bear, snow leopard and blue sheep.
Accessible only by a long walk during sunny months,
when the ground is not covered in ice and snow,
the park displays a pristine spring playground of
flowered meadows and babbling brooks.
The acclaimed flower route includes the Luberon
blooms, the region of Sault and the foothills of
Mont Ventoux, with the iconic picturesque French
countryside photograph of the Senanque Abbey
near Gordes; accompanied by a glass of wine or
champagne of course.
Wild poppies in Umbria
During the northern hemisphere’s Spring, take an
alternative holiday to see ruby red and ornately
orange poppies in the Umbrian and Tuscan
regions, as if Italy wasn’t luscious enough.
As a weed plant, the poppy viewings are not found
in pristinely pruned rows like the French, Dutch
and Japanese, but instead dance among the fields
in true Italian carefree style.
