Urban Grandstand Digital Volume 2, Issue 2 [Savvy Girl Money Edition] | Page 30

U.G. Digital Mag: I’m so glad that I’ve had the opportunity to hear your music man. It’s ironic because I do a few radio shows, and while they are geared toward independent artists and artists like yourself, I’m still skeptical when I listen to people because they just aren’t as serious. I can definitely appreciate your artistry. My geography is all jacked up sometimes. You said you were doing a show in Fayetteville June 2, and we’ll be in Atlanta. For like 5 seconds, I was planning on coming to the show until I realized it’s really North Carolina (laughing).

Yung Blaza: (Laughing) It’s plenty you’ll be able to see though if you’re in Atlanta a lot. I’m out there a lot. Right now, I had a listening session in Fayetteville yesterday, a show in Rocky Mountain right after, left there and came back to Charlotte for interviews. I’m in Atlanta Tuesday, and will be there til’ Sunday. I’m doing like 15 interviews. I’m always there man.

U.G. Digital Mag: But I swear man, I just googled “Fayetteville to Atlanta”, so for a few seconds, I was going to be there (laughing). How do you deal with the back and forth in travel?

Yung Blaza: It’s overwhelming at times, but I’m always grateful for it. This is what I wanted to do. If I wasn’t going back and forth, I would just be at home as a local rapper. To get to the next level, I have to do it. That’s what it takes to be sure y’all hear me in Cleveland.

U.G. Digital Mag: So I’m not necessarily as crazy then. I drove from Cleveland to Dallas and Houston, which was like every bit of 22 hours because of the weather. I like driving though so its cool. But I appreciate your artistry. Shout your social media and website.

Yung Blaza: All my social media is @Yungblaza, Snapchat is @yungblaza1, and my website I www.yungblaza.com. If you can’t remember any of it, just google me.

U.G. Digital Mag: We’ll get that snapchat up man, but I can’t promise I’m gonna be on it. I think I’m past the age limit. I feel like my 10-year old is tutoring me on Snapchat (laughing).

Yung Blaza: I’m not going to lie. That’s what I use the least. Everything else is so easy to me. I’m stuck at Instagram. I know to hold the button to record on Snapchat, but that’s it. I’m the same way.

U.G. Digital Mag: We got you on all the links man and the mixtape streams. I’m really looking forward to more material. “No Go” is a good representation of hip-hop. Also, you’re an inspiration because before all this, you went to college and got your degree. I know a lot of people don’t realize that, but it’s awesome. School is so important man, and a lot of people don’t know the industry. They have grandiose ideas and dreams. You have that background, and know what to expect, as well as what it takes. You’re at an advantage and you’re teaching and changing the industry as we know it. So thank you for what you’ve done out here, and for all you have coming.

Yung Blaza: I appreciate everything. No pressure 3: Nothing is Forgiven. May 22, check me out.
