Urban Grandstand Digital Volume 2, Issue 2 [Savvy Girl Money Edition] | Page 10

I was doing it for about 30 minutes a day, and I think it’s when I met you. Georgia was ultimately where I was supposed to be. I knew I would be back, but just didn’t know when. Once I did come back, I enrolled in school. I was able to go to Full Sail for free. I also was attending Ashland.

U.G. Digital Mag: With all you’ve been through, it’s awesome because you came out on top. How do you think everything you’ve done ultimately became a part of the brand?

Miss Bling: You know, just thinking back about everything in this journey, I don’t regret any of it. All the things I’ve encountered made me who I am today. I’ve always been bold and confident, but there were things I needed to work on. I was scared starting Bling radio, but I feel like I’m the Jay-Z of broadcasting. It’s been an amazing journey. I saw a show that had people come on and talk about their experiences and living in their cars. I said one day, I’m going to be talking about my journey. I always wanted to be a singer, and I still may end up doing some stuff. I told one of my friends that before I leave this earth, I will do an EP. I am on a few tracks. I’ve been blessed to work on many projects, and my journey has been amazing. I knew I would eventually get on a plane and thank Red Bull. They were the first people to fly me out to do media. That was so amazing. I was doing my own PR. I shoot the monkey in the middle and go straight for the source. It’s not about the approach. It’s really your personality and how strong you are. Be yourself, and if it’s meant for you, you’ll have it.

U.G. Digital Mag: Where do you feel like you want the brand to go next?

Miss Bling: Each year I start a new venture, I always do it in September. I launch between the first and the seventh. I had a magazine called Extreme Bling mag. I did Extreme Bling TV. I was also doing casting for events, and booking. I’m working on PR now. I’ve learned everything under the spectrum of media. I want my own location to do radio, and hold events. Events like Meet & Greets. I want to continue to do radio, travel, and interview people. Right now, I’m working on getting an RV or luxury SUV to have a mobile studio. It’ll be a location in Atlanta. I want to stay here, it is in my soul. I’ll still do red carpet events and PR. I love talking and interviewing. I don’t believe I’ll ever stop. I’ll be doing media forever. I just want to continue branding, and I will definitely have this mobile studio. My PR boutique is called IAmKonfident PR.

U.G. Digital Mag: Where can people check you out at?

Miss Bling: Everything is @blingradioshow. Facebook, Instagram, twitter, periscope, and snapchat.

U.G. Digital Mag: Have you considered doing some mentoring?

Miss Bling: Yes. I’ve been silently mentoring. I’ve literally been putting together a plan for people, and their lives have changed. I’m amazed that they listen, and at how things have changed for them.

U.G. Digital Mag: So amazing.

Miss Bling: Yea, it’s pretty cool. They wanted me to be the Art Director at the Riverdale Art Center in my city, but now that I’m doing so much, my schedule doesn’t permit. I can still contribute in some way to the community. I definitely want to mentor children. They’re the ones dreaming. I want to help them stay on track. Even if it’s not for media, I still want to be that big sister.

U.G. Digital Mag: Any final thoughts?

Miss Bling: Never give up. It does not matter how people feel about what you do. If you feel deep in your heart and soul that you want to tie shoes for a living, tie them shoes, and don’t let nobody tell you that you can’t be the best person to do it. People try to give me advice on things they have never done. I don’t do things other people do. I create my way of doing things. If it doesn’t work, fine. Just stay focused, write out a plan of things you want to do, and things you love to do, know how to do, and combine the three. Make it work.
