time.

U.G. Digital Mag: It’s monumental to have those types of features too man. I mean, Dirty Money, Q. Parker…. These are veterans to music. To have brands like their’s pushing you, it’s huge. So your current project, what can you tell us about it?

Kore Stacks: I won’t drop names because I’m still waiting for things to clear. It’s some heavy hitters though, and I’m just waiting for verses to clear. It’s done. It’s getting real to where now I’m shaking hands with A&Rs from labels, and I see the difference. I still have more work to do though.

U.G. Digital Mag: What has kept you this grounded?

Kore Stacks: I think it’s moreso the people around me. I don’t have any negativity around me, and I can easily remove myself. I have honest people in my circle, like Jakeem Smith. He’s one on my team who I really appreciate. The best part for me is I’m glad I was not a child star. I lived a normal life, and know what it’s like to be poor. It’s good I came in it like that because I don’t think I would have appreciated it if it was given to me at a young age.

U.G. Digital Mag: Right. You were able to live a normal life, and like you said, it’s easier to adjust and take this new life in.

Kore Stacks: Right.

U.G. Digital Mag: So talk a little more about your role in "Star"?

Kore Stacks: To be honest, I came on to be an extra. I got there, met Lee Daniels, and it’s crazy because he saw me, and was definitely willing to move it up to a full feature. Meeting him and being in the same environment made me feel comfortable, even though I was nervous as hell. He didn’t have any ego, and it was perfect. I also want to give a shout out to Amyah Scott, because she was also someone who was encouraging. Both of them together made it perfect.

U.G. Digital Mag: It’s good when people look out for you that way.

Kore Stacks: Most definitely.

U.G. Digital Mag: So for everything you were able to do, what have you learned and taken away from it all?

Kore Stacks: Fuck the hype, and show more work.

U.G. Digital Mag: That’s perfect.

Kore Stacks: Yea, like it’s cool, coming in for your first time. Walk the carpet, take the pictures, it’s all cool to engage and network, but at the end of the day, what’s most important is your work. That’s what it is for me. I don’t care about the flashy stuff and trying to look good no more. I just want to get the job done.

U.G. Digital Mag: What are some of the other things for people to look for?

Kore Stacks: I have three projects coming out on TV. One will showcase my talent. Finally it’s not about looking good, or talking. Things are starting to open up for me.

U.G. Digital Mag: I love it man. I’m glad things are really booming for you. Where can

people check you out online?

Kore Stacks: They can check my

music out on YouTube, iTunes,

amazon, Spotify, Tidal … like,

get the album. For me, I

want to go back to when

I feel like I’m in a

good space.

Everything I

write about,
