Jenn Williams: I'll say that I know this is all preparation for what’s to come. There’s a lot of things that God would not let happen to me. Every time I was literally trying to get help from others, it wouldn’t happen. It was also because I had trouble reading people. This industry is so shady that you have to go in knowing this person might try and take advantage of you, and still be positive at the same time. You have to go back to just keeping it moving.

U.G. Digital Mag: We all need to take that advice, including myself. That’s what helps you to grow. What does the horizon look like for you? The web series is in swift motion now, but what else is happening?

Jenn Williams: We have the web series, Clique, along with a few more productions of In My Mind, and the next thing from there would be the movie of "In My Mind".

U.G. Digital Mag: Look! I don’t need a big role. Just put me in the store, you know, anywhere [laughing].

Jenn Williams: Right. But I’ve been having these thoughts for so long, and now, I know who I am. It took me 36 years to get here.

U.G. Digital Mag: But the beauty is that you’re here. That’s what’s important. We spoke about so much in the radio interview, but how did you ultimately land as a Playwright?

Jenn Williams: It started with writing as a release from depressions. I have always suffered from depressions. I was 7, and my mom noticed it, so she would always buy me notebooks. They would be filled by the end of the month. She would keep buying me notebooks, and I would keep making up stories, and writing about how I felt. It started as a release. When I turned 25, I was at a bar, and all I could think about was going home and writing about it. From 25 - 34, I was fighting with myself about why I wasn’t following that. It’s always been there though.

U.G. Digital Mag: I think you should write a book.

Jenn Williams: I am. That’s next too. I want to write about the good, the bad, and the ugly.

U.G. Digital Mag: I think there’s a good story on life in general. You have a book in there already. You don’t need to wait a few years unless you’re writing about something else. As far as life, dealing with disappointment, the crazy stuff that happens, the discouraging things, and triumph, you have it already. You just need to put it on paper. There’s many people who thought you were done and over, but you’re here. That’s your story. What advice do you offer to the next to come?

Jenn Williams: What I would say is to know who you are. Make sure to know what you stand for, and what you want to get accomplished. Don’t back down for anybody. Protect your vision and dream in the same manner that you protect your life.

U.G. Digital Mag: You’re amazing, and I thank you for this.

Jenn Williams: And I thank you.
