JOI GILLIAM

MADE YOU LOOK

To connect with Joi Gilliam for this issue has been nothing short of incredible. As a music lover, I’ve followed Joi for more than twenty years, as many people have. She introduced us to Pendulum Vibe in 1994, and since then, has maneuvered through the industry with several powerful releases that have connected with fans in immeasurable ways. Personally, I’ve always connected with the arts, and specifically those artists who have that ability to display a deeper side of themselves through their passion and craft. Since her beginning, Joi has experimented with different sounds and genres within her music, and has had a way of connecting personally with her audience like no other.

She’s fearless in her approach and delivery, and that resonates with listeners. It’s why no matter how long she may stay away from us, we’re always excited at the prospect of new material. The beauty in our connection is that we’re elated just to be in her radar for discussion, to pique her brain, and get into her mind. We’re intrigued simply by her being. Of course, we’re also here to talk about her latest packaging of brilliance (her new single “Stare at Me” is currently making it’s rounds). In our feature, we talk heavily about her journey through music, why her talent is just so un-fucking-deniable as she calls it, and most importantly, what we’ll get with her new offering, S.I.R. Rebekkah Holylove.
