Chitoka Light has lost nearly 125lbs since embarking on her weight loss journey with TLC & Family by the Ton....

now in terms of progress?

Chitoka Light: I have continued to drop weight at a slower pace. I work out three days a week with a personal trainer. They’re teaching me to be more independent. It is still a struggle. You see my life in 6 episodes. It took us a year to film that.

U.G. Digital Mag: One of the pivotal moments was you getting out of the house. How often are you able to get out now?

Chitoka Light: Unfortunately, transportation is still an issue. Most of my friends don’t have vehicles that can accommodate me. I’m working on getting a vehicle that can. I haven’t been out a lot except for medical appointments.

U.G. Digital Mag: But the times you are out is a work in progress.

Chitoka Light: Right. I also had a viewing party for the first episode, which was at a restaurant. That was exciting for people who didn’t know I was filming the show.

U.G. Digital Mag: Will there be another season?

Chitoka Light: It’s still a work in progress. It looks promising, but we’re still waiting.

U.G. Digital Mag: What’s been the biggest lesson you’ve learned through it all?

Chitoka Light: For me, The biggest thing has been that you can’t just talk about it. You have to be about it. You often learn how to say the right things to get what you need, but you just have to do the work.

U.G. Digital Mag: Do you have more help now through your process?

Chitoka Light: I don’t know if I have more help, but I have perhaps different help. I have another trainer and a life coach. I have people helping me get to the root cause of my issues with weight. I have help from some family who just didn’t want to be on camera.

U.G. Digital Mag: You’re right. There’s a lot that goes into it. How have your eating habits changed?
