He also follows the footprints of any others, including his parents. Since his childhood years, Ricco has been finding his way in this world, carving his own path to success, and his work is finally paying off. He’s ready to take the world by storm with his debut EP, Ferrari Infidelity. For him, Ferrari Infidelity is a way of life, and he inviting you in to see what it’s all about.
In our exclusive, Barrino takes us back to the beginning and gives us a bit of the history behind the name. He gives us the full rundown on his time with Hustle Gang, and how that ultimately guided him to this moment of independence in his life. He’s worked a long time at getting to this point in his life, and he’s all set to bring you into his world!
U.G. Digital Mag: It’s really good to connect with you man. It’s been about eight years since you’ve been out here. A lot of people are going to remember you being connected with Grand Hustle. How did you get together with them?
Ricco Barrino: The way it started was back in the day, I had a group by the name of Infinity It started with me getting out of high school. Basically, I moved to Atlanta on my own and I had a dream. My brothers and I had a group called Infinity, and my brother was in the group. We had another friend of mine who was good in the neighborhood. We called him the 5th wonder of the world because he was very talented. I convinced them to move with me. I played football, and was a star athlete. I got in some trouble, and eventually had to make a decision. Is it going to be music, or will I wake up Saturday banged and bruised up. So I moved to Atlanta, and was making my way. After that, I ended up going back to North Carolina, and we linked up with some high school friends who played instruments. They wanted to be in the group, but I wasn’t sure how good they were until rehearsal. Funny thing was we were rehearsing in this old church, and I swear it had to be God, because once I heard it, I was hooked.
