Partnering with governments and communities to tackle urban challenges in equity , housing , sustainability , and more
Research Centre
The City Futures Research Centre at UNSW has been a national leader in scholarly , applied public interest research on our cities since 2005 . In undertaking this research , the Centre collaborates with various academic researchers across Australia and overseas .
The Centre ’ s applied focus also involves strong partnerships with local , state and federal government agencies , as well as industry stakeholders and community groups , to develop evidence-based ideas for tackling the complex challenges of urban change and growth . All while never losing sight of its commitment to independent public interest research , a critical component of the Centre ’ s philosophy .
Situated within the Faculty of Arts , Design , and Architecture , City Futures advances the understanding of cities by focusing on people , places , policies , and technologies . The Centre researches the major urban challenges of city equity , housing , productivity , sustainability , resilience , governance , and renewal in partnership with governments , industry , not-for-profit organisations , and communities . • 33
