NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub
Supporting and accelerating decarbonisation tech and services in NSW through fostering collaboration , partnerships and projects between industry , researchers and government
Research Network
The NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub supports NSW Government goals to reduce emissions by 50 % below 2005 levels by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 .
The Hub is supported financially by the NSW Environmental Trust and its partners , including nine universities and two government departments : DCCEEW and DPIRD . Industry contributions , cash and in-kind leverage the Hub ’ s core funding .
The Decarbonisation Innovation Study , prepared by the NSW Office of Chief Scientist and Engineer ( OCSE ) and released in 2020 , identified many opportunities that could potentially reduce emissions and provide economic benefit to NSW . The Hub was established to investigate decarbhub . au
those opportunities .
OCSE updated the study in 2023 , confirming and extending earlier findings . The Hub supports three specialist networks to accelerate research and attract investment into decarbonisation technology projects . It fosters collaboration , partnerships and projects between industry , researchers and government to drive decarbonisation in NSW and beyond .
