Quail Run Dog Park Mesa, AZ (30 min. drive from site) 7am-10pm daily, closed Thursdays for maintenance While not as flash as Cosmo, this decent-sized dog park in the north of Mesa is still worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood for errands. It also features an enclosure for boisterous dogs and a separate side for small or timid canines. Their website is down, but there are sure to be common-sense rules. Google may take you to the wrong spot, so from Hwy 60 west, turn right at Kings Ranch Rd. and go about 3 miles. Turn right at E Baseline Ave, left at S Mohican, left at E Valley View and right at E Cloudview. Continue to the trailhead. Be sure to park in the lot and not along the road or you may be towed. Peralta Canyon Approx. 5 miles round-trip of moderate-to-challenging hiking If you want to get on top of those amazing rocks visible from site, then Peralta Canyon is the hike for you. After an elevation gain of 1,400 ft in the first 2.5 miles, you and your pooch will be rewarded with amazing views of the valley and the Weaver’s Needle rock formation.
