Dead Wren Memorial Melva Crowther
As most of you know by now , our friend Melva Crowther passed in her sleep some time during the night last Thursday , February 8 , 2018 . I first met Melva in 2010 , when she started working at the “ Honey Lodge ,” where I perform at the Texas Renaissance Festival . I got to know Melva as well as many members of her family , including her son Tony , who worked at the Festival with us . Melva was quick to “ lend ” me a smoke , always had a story to share , clapped along with all of the music , and knew just what kind of Mead each customer wanted . Last year , in 2017 , she left Todd Mission to take to the road working for Boss Wench at Sherwood , Colorado , Minnesota and Hoggetowne , but her circuit ended before the opening at Deerfield . We will miss you , Melva .
