The fame and impact of the Kensington Runestone was widespread , including influences on Scandinavian culture and inspiration for the name of the state ’ s professional football team , the Minnesota Vikings .
You can visit the actual Kensington Runestone by visiting the Runestone Museum . You can also see the site where the artifact was discovered at Kensington Runestone Park .
The museum houses many other unique historical artifacts . The outside campus features a pioneer town life display with nine historic buildings and there is a 40-foot replica of a Viking merchant ship from the Smithsonian .

Paul Larson designed a sleek boat called Falls Flyer as a tribute to his friend and Little Falls , Minnesora native , Charles Lindbergh . “ The Spirit of St . Louis ”, the famous aviator ’ s aircraft , inspired the sleek lines of the Falls Flyer .
