Did you know that Minnesota is the fourth largest producer of sunflowers in the U . S . after South Dakota , North Dakota , and Texas according to Statista . com ? Two months out of the year , Minnesota turns bright yellow with blooming sunflowers . There are two sunflower field locations you could visit on your drive up north .
Fresh Acres Farm in Monticello offers five acres of sunflowers to enjoy on Zeke and Dana Berg ’ s farm . During the season , the field is open seven days a week from sunrise to sunset . Additional activities include : corn mazes , a pumpkin patch , petting zoo , bale mountain , yard games , and food vendors . There are two corn mazes to explore .
