Some Options for Enjoying the Camping Experience When You Head Up North

( Brainerd Lakes, MN) – Thanks to all the beauty and natural resources in the Brainerd Lakes area, it is one of the best places in the state to go camping. Whether you want to rough it in the wilderness or enjoy the comforts of home while surrounded by nature, there are options for everyone’ s tastes.
ROUGHING IT Crow Wing State Park is a riverfront preserve in Brainerd at the confluence of the Mississippi and Crow Wing Rivers. There are fifty-nine established campsites, including three along the Mississippi River. The others are up on a buff away from the water.
Just 12 of the sites have electricity. They tend to be reserved by people who have RVs and motorhomes. The other sites are more rustic in nature and make great places to pitch a tent.
“ The nice thing about the sites in the group camping area is that each is accessible by vehicle, so you can drive right up to them; but get the feeling of being out in the wilderness,” said Ty Nelson, a building and grounds worker at Crow Wing State Park.
