Overview
Why Bradford?
Course modules
Our BA in Archaeology centres on field
archaeology with a strong professional
focus. It offers a wide range of topics
including: an understanding of the
application of theory to archaeology,
the history of archaeological thought,
material culture, the development of
regional archaeological sequences,
survey, excavation and site assessment.
The BA in Archaeology provides
you with the opportunity to develop
analytical and practical skills in the
interpretation of archaeological material
cultures and ancient civilisations.
All courses offer excellent teaching
in a supportive environment with lots
of hands-on practical experience in
outstanding facilities. All our teaching
is underpinned by staff research
projects, many of which receive global
media attention. We are the third
highest archaeology department in the
country for the impact of our research
(Research Excellence Framework 2014).
The four-year course includes a unique
placement year of professional work
experience.
