Faculty of Management and Law Accounting and Finance Accounting and Finance BSc (Hons) Overview ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE Our Accounting and Finance degree is accredited by major professional accounting bodies, and is the first step towards your career as an accountant or within the finance sector. The degree is designed to give you an in-depth understanding of how accounting and finance fits into the broader context of business and management, and will provide you with the specialist skills and knowledge enabling you to flourish in your future career. Why Bradford? Our academics are experts in their fields, and will explain in detail the function that accountants play, both in influencing management decisions and providing crucial information to investors. You will develop a broad insight into business and management and learn how strategic, financial and tax strategies can enhance corporate value, developing your expertise and helping you to think like an investor. As Accounting and Finance shares a common first year with our other undergraduate courses, you may transfer to another degree such as Business and Management Studies at the end of your first year, if you feel that your interests lie in another area of business. You can also choose to take the course over three continuous years or over four years with a year of practical work experience. You can also combine your your passion for learning and travelling by studying abroad at one of our partner institutions in Europe, Canada, Australia, North America or Hong Kong. Accreditation and Professional Body Recognition Once you’ve graduated, you’ll be eligible for exemptions from some professional accou nting examinations, which has a major advantage on your journey to qualifying as a professional accountant.
