Shaping the future
Stepping up Cyber
Security Research
Our Cyber Security
Interdisciplinary Research
Centre has been set up to
help meet the demand for
trained graduates who can
help organisations stay
one step ahead of hackers
as information channels
and networks become
increasingly complex.
Not only are our courses designed
with industry input, they’re taught
by the academic experts shaping
the very future of those industries
– academics who are applying their
knowledge to research in order to
find solutions to today’s challenges.
A new cancer
treatment –
from a flower
Our researchers carried
out biochemical analysis
on the hair of a young girl
buried 500 years ago near
the summit of the Volcán
Llullaillaco on the Chile/
Argentina border to reveal
that she had been sedated
with drugs and alcohol in
the months leading up to
her death.
Our researchers are
developing a new cancer
treatment with the
potential to destroy many
cancer tumours using
naturally occurring
chemicals from the British
autumn-flowering crocus.
