UNSW Global Student Engagement Online: Challenges, Surprises and Innovations Ms Adina Stan, Ms Mahnaz Armat
Student engagement lies at the core of a
successful learning and teaching experience.
The recent move to fully online teaching
precipitated by the global pandemic, has
provoked educators and students alike to
reimagine engagement and reinvent teaching
and learning. The shift to online learning has
pushed educators to transcend traditional
boundaries and move outside their comfort
zone towards exploring unique opportunities for
innovative, unconventional and even disruptive
teaching strategies. The shift to online has also
been transformative for students. It has driven
them to have more initiative and take more
responsibility for their learning.
This poster aims to illustrate some of
the challenges, surprises, and disruptive
innovations in the UNSW Global Management
course. It will highlight some of the student
and teacher concerns, issues, and limitations
associated with student engagement, and
reveal innovations implemented in response.
The poster will also showcase realisations and
lessons learnt for current and future practice.
