Challenges
The first challenge in my role is that there is never enough time to resolve every issue that come up in the projects. Secondly, because of time limits, the quality of documents that reach my desk may not contain all the information I need to make certain assessments. Then the technical terms used in construction can be challenging especially on specialised construction projects. Having experience on site is crucial to overcoming this.
For anyone who wants to get into this industry, prioritise cadetships and site experience. Also, take your time to choose your pathway rather than rush through it because the industry has several career pathways.
Why This Role
My first experience on the construction site was so much fun and it motivated me to get into the industry. One great perk of this role is having to see your project completed.
