Challenges Why This Role
My role is very physical, so initially it was a challenge for me, being a woman, to build up my upper arm strength, but being on site and carrying out daily tasks, those muscles( and more!) now come naturally.
Another challenge for me was changing careers. I went from owning and running my own equestrian center to commencing my Certificate 3 in Carpentry as a mature age student. I’ m 40 and I encourage anyone who has always had a passion for something, or wants to try something new to go for it, it is never too late!
I’ ve always had a love for building and creating things. I had built three houses under owner / builder with my husband prior to commencing my carpentry apprenticeship, so it is definitely something I have always had a passion for.
I love the satisfaction of seeing the end result something I have created.
