Challenges
The path to becoming a project manager was not without its challenges, but with the support of my mentors, I was able to build my confidence. Working in a male-dominated industry, I have been fortunate to have both male and female mentors who have guided me. For women considering a career in construction, I strongly advocate for giving it a go. Being open to learning and having a supportive network can lead to a prosperous career in this field.
2025 and beyond
My plan is to keep learning, absorbing as much as I can from peers and to say yes to any opportunities that may come my way. My biggest fear is to become stagnant, so doing all I can to continuously evolve and develop will also be front of mind.
Why This Role
My journey in the industry began while I was still at university, starting in a cadet role. After graduating, I transitioned into a contracts administrative role at a smaller company, where I had the opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of a supportive manager. Despite initial feelings of imposter syndrome when offered the project manager position, the encouragement from my manager helped me embrace the role. Today, I feel more confident than ever and am grateful to work at JLL, where nearly 50 % of our team are women. Throughout my career, I have been inspired by strong female mentors and supportive colleagues.
