PATHWAYS TO POLITICS FOR WOMEN

UNSW RESEARCH
Rosalind Dixon is a Professor of Law at UNSW Sydney working on constitutional law, democratic design and resilience, and gender equality.
Rosalind is Co-Deputy Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and a champion of shared leadership models. She is also Director of the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law and the Pathways to Politics Program for Women NSW.
Pathways to Politics for Women explores how to make the Commonwealth and NSW Parliaments more inclusive and representative. It offers training for NSW women( cis and trans) to stand for election, and research into policy changes surrounding working hours, care norms, and safe parliamentary practices. The program has run for two years and continues to expand its scope and ambitions for promoting gender and racially inclusive representation and decision-making in NSW.
> Support for the election of Sally Sitou MP( ALP, Reid) to the Commonwealth Parliament- an MP from a refugee background.
> Support for the election of eight local councillors in 2021.
> Support for the election of the first black councillor in the City of Sydney.
> Engagement with members of the Commonwealth and NSW parliaments on structural reform. • 41
