NEW ECONOMY NETWORK OF AUSTRALIA

UNSW RESEARCH
The New Economy Network of Australia research explored small-scale sustainable economy initiatives that translated aspects of social activism into innovations in enterprise design and operation .
These initiatives , from community-owned renewable energy to communitysupported agriculture to car-sharing and coworking , all faced legal and regulatory barriers in ensuring they could grow and endure with fidelity to their original values . Dismantling these barriers to build a more regenerative economy requires long-term dialogue , advocacy and collective action across sectors , from individuals to organisations .
To support this , a new organisation has grown from the research , in collaboration with the Australian Earth Laws Initiative .
The New Economy Network of Australia is a member-based cooperative of organisations and individuals working to create an ecologically healthy and socially just society by providing a platform for knowledge sharing , peer to peer support and cross-pollination of ideas and collaboration , including with organisations such as the International Solidarity Economies Network and the transnational Wellbeing Economy Alliance .
> Breakthrough realworld impact via eight geographic hubs and 25 sectoral hubs .
> More than 300 members and involved in webinars , annual conference and journal .
> Methodologies for wellbeing economy analysis in development with partners .
> Reimagining traditional innovation pathways in more regenerative ways .
