Master of Laws by Research (LLM) The Master of Laws by Research (LLM) requires completion of an original piece of research, similar to that required for a PhD but on a more modest scale. As with other research degrees, work is undertaken under supervision of experts in a chosen research area that enables development of original insights and critical research skills, in a supportive and stimulating environment. Duration 1.5 to 2 years (minimum duration for completion is 1.5 years). Entry requirements Completion of a recognised 4 year Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours which includes a substantial research component, or the equivalent.
