CARDIOBIONIC

Life-saving technology , accessible to all
STARTUP
Heart failure is a severe and debilitating disease with over 56 million prevalent cases in 2019 . Current therapeutic devices are not cost effective , which restricts their potential benefit , particularly for the emerging economies of India and China .
CardioBionic is addressing these issues through the development of a novel , cost-effective mechanical circulatory support system , the Ventrii Left Ventricular Assist System . This system aims to provide a versatile tool to cardiac surgeons , so they are able to improve the longevity and quality of life of their patients .
> Performance of the device during testing suggested that Ventrii patrients would have an improved capacity for exercise compared to patients on existing devices .
> AUD $ 4M capital raised through UNSW Health 10x program .
> Health Innovation Award , UNSW Founders , 2022 .
Early design and prototyping has now concluded , with promising results from early evaluations in the lab and within acute in-vivo tests . The product is undergoing final design control and safety testing prior to human trials , while the factory is working towards quality management certification for medical device manufacturing . CardioBionic is seeking to raise its public profile for future capital raising activities .
