Improving the health and wellbeing of socially vulnerable people is one of Australia ' s greatest challenges . The COVID-19 pandemic showed in new ways the interconnections between health , housing , education , social connection and material security .
Our future health depends on recognising and working with these connections , and on partnerships between researchers , communities , governments , and industries .
The Social Policy Research Centre makes a positive impact by producing research that tackles critical social issues and amplifies the resources and strengths of those experiencing marginalisation .
> More than 40 years of experience in working with government and nongovernment partners to produce policy-relevant , high quality research
> High impact evaluations and data analysis that inform policy development and implementation
> Contributions to research knowledge and translation in disability policy , drug policy , human services delivery , and poverty and deprivation
Its research is designed to enhance the lives and wellbeing of individuals and communities , enlighten public debate , and enhance policy formation . Projects are driven by community needs , and in partnership with people with lived expertise .
Research conducted by SPRC informs social policy in Australia and drives change to help end inequality and disadvantage and improve wellbeing and social justice , for individuals and communities .
It conducts policy analysis to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of arrangements put in place to meet those needs in diverse and changing Australian and international contexts , and identify options for doing things better .
