RESEARCH GROUP
The Centre for Social Research in Health ( CSRH ) undertakes and promotes exemplary research in health that informs and strengthens knowledge , policy , and practice . Its research focus is on projects that make a crucial contribution to the Australian response to blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections .
Research programs address a wide range of health-related issues , drawing on leading multi-disciplinary expertise to increase understanding of the individual , social and structural factors that influence health and illness and address health inequalities . In doing so , CSRH research intersects with important strands of sociology , political science , policy , STS ( Science , Technology & Society ), anthropology , psychology , global health , and public health .
CSRH research supports the needs and aspirations of partners in policy , practice and community , and responds to and engages with the research priorities of the Australian Government and international agencies , including the World Health Organisation and the UN .
