4.6 Alignment of Research to the UN SDGs
The Business School recently undertook a process of auditing and mapping its research activities against the UN SDGs .
Our research grants were mapped from 2019-2021 and over 78 % of external grants were found to align to the SDGs . These are summarised Table 7 , which shows that the Business School has generated significant external funding , particularly in relation to SDG 17 ( 41 grants ), SDG 3 ( 32 grants ), SDG 16 ( 31 ), SDG 10 ( 29 ), SDG 1 ( 26 ) and SDG 9 ( 25 grants ).
The audit also mapped all publications from January- October 2020 – see Table 8 . It was found that 255 out of 475 publications ( 56 %) were aligned to the SDGs in this period . There were particular strengths against SDG 16 ( 94 publications ), SDG 3 ( 71 ), SDG 8 ( 36 ), SDG 9 ( 34 ), SDG 10 ( 29 ) and SDG 17 ( 25 publications ).
