The Committee has made the following progress in 2021 .
> Times Higher Education ( THE ) Impact Rankings submission and optimisation plan . The annual THE Impact Rankings are the first attempt globally to measure university progress towards achieving the SDGs . A working group was established to organise UNSW ’ s expanded submission to the rankings , reporting on progress towards all SDGs , rather than a small subset . The working group have also finalised and are implementing recommendations to strengthen the identification and collection of appropriate data for this important reporting activity .
> Power-BI SDG Dashboard . Work has begun on development of a dashboard that will automatically tag relevant content with SDGs . This will allow UNSW to monitor and report on our contributions towards the SDGs and will also provide all staff with visibility of SDG activities across the university to enhance collaboration and support . This SDG dashboard is being developed and piloted by staff of the Business School ’ s School of Information Systems & Technology Management .
> Faculty-level SDG desk top audit . The Business School , along with all other UNSW faculties , carried out a desktop audit of all activity related to SDGs . This provided us with visibility of where we are contributing to the SDGs , where we are having most impact , and helped us identify our SDG experts . Information gathered by this audit has also informed preparation of our SIP report .
> UNSW SDG Strategic Planning . A sustainability consultancy , Point Advisory , was engaged and has completed the following activities in collaboration with faculties :
• Strategic and Materiality Review
• Strategic Sustainability Framework
• Sustainability Measurement Framework ( in progress )
Funding has been approved for a multi-year roll out of the UNSW Sustainability Matters program and program goals and targets are being finalised .
> Business School SDG Strategic Planning . In addition , the Business School conducted a survey of staff and students to understand which SDGs they are passionate about and what they would like to see prioritised by the Business School . See Section 6.1 for further details .
