Principle 2 | Values

We will incorporate into our academic activities , curricula , and organisational practices the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact .
UNSW ’ s Strategy 2025 Update explicitly incorporates the UN Sustainable Development Goals into Priority C : Social Impact , Theme 3 : Sustainable Development .
Our 2025 vision is to tackle real-world problems through partnerships that bring together our students , staff , alumni and the community , aligning our efforts with UNSW ’ s expertise and research strengths , Australia ’ s aspirations and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals .
In line with Principle 2 , the Business School is committed to “ adopting responsible and inclusive practices , as well as sustainable technologies and environments to be a Business School for a better future ” ( Theme 3 , Strategy 2021 +). Examples of this commitment follow .
2.1 UNSW Sustainable Development Goals Approach
Achieving UNSW ’ s vision requires commitment across all levels . Accordingly , a university-wide SDG Steering Committee has been established , headed by the Senior Deputy Dean ( Academic ) of the Business School , Professor Leisa Sargent . The Committee includes representatives from all faculties and has accountability for developing , coordinating , monitoring , evaluating and communicating the University ’ s engagement with the SDGs . The 3-year plan of the SDG Committee is outlined in Figure 2 .
