Commitment to SDGs
The Tax Clinic has a demonstrated commitment to the SDGs , with particular focus on reducing inequalities ( SDG 10 ), peace , justice and strong institutions ( SDG 16 ), no poverty ( SDG 1 ), good health and well-being ( SDG 3 ), gender equality ( SDG 5 ), and partnerships for the goals ( SDG 17 ). Further , the Clinic is associated with multiple university-level equity , diversity and inclusion initiatives including the
Australian Human Rights Institute and the
Women ’ s Wellbeing Academy .
In 2021 the Tax Clinic was recognised by the
AACSB Innovations that Inspire for making a positive impact by mobilising “ researchers from a variety of disciplines to identify systemic issues faced by financially vulnerable cohorts and advocate for reform ”. The Clinic was also the recipient of the Business School ’ s 2020 Responsible Management Education Award and was recognised as a global exemplar of how Business Schools can and should undertake responsible business education and pursue achievement of the UN SDGs .
Plans are in place to extend the scope of the advisory service from tax to a broader range of business and financial arenas .
