Develop the essential skills to analyse data and evaluate financial risks, and get on track
for a successful career as an actuary. You’ll have the opportunity to gain Part I, Part II
and/or Part III (7A Enterprise Risk Management) exemptions from the professional
examinations of the Actuaries Institute Australia. Becoming an actuary can be demanding, but in this extended program, you will develop
beyond the core technical knowledge, enabling you to work across diverse industries, from
insurance and superannuation through to banking and healthcare. You’ll have the opportunity
to obtain exemptions from the professional examinations of the Actuaries Institute Australia.

• 4 compulsory courses
• 8 elective courses
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A recognised Bachelor degree (or equivalent) majoring
in Actuarial Studies, Econometrics, Mathematics or
Statistics with a credit average grade (65% or higher),
as determined by UNSW Business School.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Up to four courses (24 UOC) may be awarded based
on previous studies in Actuarial Studies (Bachelor
or higher).
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Part I and Part II - Actuaries Institute (Australia), and
recognised for exemptions for core technical subjects
(CT 1-8) of the institute and Faculty of Actuarise (UK),
and for VEE from the North American Society
of Actuaries. The School of Risk and Actuarial Studies
is also recognised as a Centre of Actuarial Excellence
by the Society of Actuaries.
